Thought for Today – A Ministry of John Palatucci

Good morning,

Thought for today

“The LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way,” (Exodus 13:21) The Lord has always desired to lead His people. He still does! In the Old Testament He led His people by day in a pillar of cloud. It was the glory cloud of His presence. When the cloud moved, the people were to follow. The Lord no longer leads His people that way, but He does lead us by His Spirit, through Scripture, circumstances guided by His providence and through many other ways. Do you want the Lord to lead you? Of course, we all do. The Lord led His people, out of bondage in Egypt. They were slaves to Pharaoh, a cruel taskmaster. God always wants to lead His people out of bondage. There is no Pharaoh today, but there is bondage to fear, bad relationships, sin, addictions and the list goes on and on. God wants His people to be free. He set His people free through the Passover. Jesus Christ is our Passover, sacrificed for us. “He that the Son sets free is free indeed.” The Lord led His people into the wilderness to be free to serve Him. Surprisingly enough, they complained and desired to go back to Egypt. Many of God’s people today want to go back to their Egypt. It was a hard lifestyle, but they were satisfied in their misery. God had something better for them, but they longed to go back. Do you know someone who longs to go back to an old lifestyle that is less than the best God wants. We may be out of our comfort zone for a while, but the Lord is leading us somewhere that is much better. Trust Him and press forward. God always has something much better for us. Don’t let fear stop you. Go forward. God has direction for our lives. Follow Him. He knows the way. He has wonderful plans for something better in our lives, but we become settled with our fears. Don’t let it happen to you. Follow Him. It may not always be easy, but He has a destiny for your life.

Lord God, thank You for this new day, lead me in the right path and I will follow. Take this fear from me and burn it, and replace it with pure and perfect trust in what You have for me. Bless this day and be glorified in it, in Jesus name,

Blessings in Christ

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
